World PvP raids are still frequent as well, and typically grow to large numbers, sometimes leading to server crashes. The community has several large groups, from both factions, that enjoy engaging in vigourous battles. Sargeras was and still is primarily known among other realms for its PvP atmosphere, although in recent years, the Horde to Alliance ratio has held steady at about 10:1, heavily tilting World PvP events in the Alliance's favor. As of late January through February of 2008, the server once again began experiencing login queues, as high as 20 minutes, as a result of open transfers to the server. The server still maintains a large population, however, and several original guilds from both factions are still around in 2008, both raid-oriented and casual-oriented guilds. Transfers were opened up to the Detheroc server, which caused several of the original end-game guilds, mostly Horde, to switch. In the middle of 2005, players began experiencing heavy latency and large queue times due to a large player base. However, the Horde has almost no presence on the PVE ranking, with the top rated Horde guild placing at #405 (as of 6.1) and only 6 Horde guilds having any Highmaul or BRF bosses killed at all.

Sargeras is home to World #3, US#1 guild Midwinter (As of Patch 6.1) and has a very strong Alliance PVE base.

Sargeras is also known as one of the best PVE servers in the US. Sargeras was once a Titan, a champion chosen by his fellow members of the Pantheon to defend the worlds they had created. The server title Sargeras was taken from Sargeras the Destroyer, the Fallen Titan, creator and leader of the Burning Legion. It belongs to the batch of original servers released upon launch (November 23, 2004) and is one of the largest in the Central Time Zone. Sargeras is a PvP server in the Shadowburn Battlegroup. If you are looking to transfer an Alliance character to Sargeras for PvP, then enemy player targets will be a very rare sight, but at least you can be happy with pretty much always controlling the major world PvP raid zones. If you like seeing a lot of enemy players to kill, AND don't mind almost ALWAYS being out-numbered in PvP raids, then this is hands-down the best server for your Horde character. Let that guide your decision making as you consider what high population PvP server to transfer to or start a character on. WARNING: The first thing you should know about the Sargeras server is that it is 95% alliance, and has been for several years now.
